A morning on the flats
A good friend from childhood came to town and wanted to go on a morning hike. The closest hike to Denver with great views that also offers a tough hike are The Flatirons in Boulder. The flatirons are great on a bad day, on a day like this they were spectacular. We arrived to Flatiron 1 around 7am, just in time to see the sunset rising in the parking lot. Submitting by sunrise would have been tough, but hiking during sunrise was pretty amazing.
I had been waiting for an image like this for a long time. With the sun kissing the rock, the horizon line a beautiful collection of purple and orange hue’s. This might be one of my favorites ever. Dan, thanks for convincing me to get up and do this.
