Pachamama
Pachamama is a goddess revered by the indigenous peoples of the Andes, known in Inca mythology as the 'Earth Mother.' Each morning of our trek, we began by putting our hands int he middle and shouted 'Pachamama!’ But the day we summited and reached Machu Picchu, we whispered it, out of respect for the sacred ground we had arrived on.
I call this photo Pachamama because it captures a feeling of accomplishment, gratitude, and joy. It’s a tribute to the incredible journey, the friends I trekked with, our guides, and everyone who made the adventure possible.
This image represents more than a destination—it’s an accomplishment and moment of awe as anyone who’s been there can tell you
